1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rockbox! Radio (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by NorthBright Digital U.S.

2. Description of Service

Rockbox! Radio is an independent online radio station broadcasting handcrafted setlists of rock, prog, jazz, and classic reggae, hosted by JayTee. The Service includes a live audio stream, now-playing metadata, recently played history, a full-screen now-playing mode, a real-time waveform visualizer with multiple display modes, an equalizer with multiple presets, a command palette for quick navigation, a live listener chat (available during live shows), a broadcast schedule with reminder/calendar export, and a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed on desktop, Android, iOS, and TV devices. The stream plays continuously across page navigation — it only stops when you explicitly pause it.

3. Use of Content

• All music broadcast on Rockbox! Radio is licensed for streaming. You may not record, reproduce, or redistribute the stream.
• The Rockbox! Radio name, logo, code, and brand assets are the proprietary property of NorthBright Digital U.S. You may not use them without written permission.
• The equalizer presets are designed to enhance your listening experience. Results may vary depending on your device and audio output equipment.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the stream or website
• Post abusive, hateful, or spam content in the live chat
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload our servers
• Disable right-click protection or attempt to copy protected content

5. PWA, Notifications & Personal Stats

When you install Rockbox! Radio as a Progressive Web App, a personal listening stats section becomes visible on the home page. These stats (total sessions, listening time, average session, top location, full listener ID with copy button) are a private, in-app-only feature — they are never shown on the public website and are tied to a random anonymous listener ID stored in your browser. They are private to you: no other user can see your stats, and you cannot see anyone else's. Clearing your browser's local storage will reset your listener ID and associated stats display. If you have not installed the PWA, no stats section is shown at all.

Schedule reminders: The “Remind Me” button schedules a browser notification 5 minutes before a live broadcast. This requires notification permission and only works while the app/tab is open. We do not guarantee notification delivery.

PWA updates: The app automatically checks for new versions every 5 minutes and prompts you to refresh. You are responsible for keeping your installed PWA up to date.

6. Live Chat

The listener chat feature is available only during live broadcasts (Wednesdays and Fridays, 6pm–9pm South African time). Chat registration requires your name, surname, and email. We are not responsible for the content of messages posted by other listeners. However, we reserve the right to remove inappropriate content and block users who violate these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

All music broadcast on Rockbox! Radio is properly licensed through our streaming provider. The website design, code, original content, logo, and brand assets are the proprietary intellectual property of NorthBright Digital U.S. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, modification, or derivative works are prohibited without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the stream will be available 24/7, that metadata will be accurate, or that the website will be free of errors. We are not responsible for any data charges incurred by streaming audio.

9. Limitation of Liability

Rockbox! Radio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (which is $0, as the Service is free).

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America and South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts. The Service is operated by NorthBright Digital U.S.
